Interoperability: a clear advantage.

From smaller entities to large care networks, referral sources want to partner with post-acute providers who can share data electronically.

What is interoperability?
As the industry moves from paper to electronic communication, interoperability–the bi-directional exchange of data across disparate healthcare systems–is changing the way providers work.

Why is it so important?
A 2020 survey showed that nearly 100% of referring hospitals and physicians are conducting business electronically, and expect their post-acute care partners do the same.¹ However, only 14% of referral data is being shared via an electronic data feed. That’s a significant gap.

Here’s more data from the survey: More than ¾ of referral sources say they would send more referrals to those post-acute providers who can receive orders electronically.
